This unpublished gem of a holiday comedy was first produced to rave reviews at Atlanta's Tony Award Winning Alliance Theatre
The Bench is a true "modern" tale of Christmas. It weaves the sentimental story of two men who meet on a bench at the mall while waiting hopefully for their wives to finish Christmas shopping. As the weeks progress, they get to know each other, along with all the other wacky characters who inhabit the mall. They enjoy mall-style entertainment on the nearby "stage," including a verson of A Christmas Carol performed in under 5 minutes. The Bench is full of singing and dancing and is hilariously funny. Plus, it has a warm, happy ending perfect for the entire family to get us all in the spirit of the season.
